About our bathroom resealing in Witney
Kitchens need the same care as bathrooms. The joint between worktop and wall, the edge of the sink and the bottom of the splashback all take splashes every day, and water behind a laminate worktop can make it swell. Kitchen joints get a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows. If you have gaps where the bath or tray has moved and mouldy sealant that has gone black, we can put it right.
Plenty of homes in a town like Witney have had new bathrooms and kitchens over the years, some more than once. A common problem is new sealant laid over old, which never bonds properly, so we take every joint back to clean before anything new goes in.
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, whatever its size.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Witney
I let a flat near Finstock station. Can you help?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can be quoted together. Just call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Is Witney in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Witney is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing, and we will give you a clear quote.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
Should I try DIY first?
It depends on the job. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.
Do I have to be there?
That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we will agree access with you when we book.
How long will the resealing take?
It takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. You’ll know how long to expect before we start.
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes. All our work comes with a 12-month guarantee, and we are fully insured.
How the job changes by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
Water often gets past the wall profile of a shower enclosure. It’s resealed along with the tray joints, following the enclosure maker’s guidance on which side to seal.
Sinks & splashbacks
Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.
How it works
Most of a good job is in the preparation, and we do not rush it. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. All told, the work takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. In Witney, parking is rarely complicated, though it helps to know about driveways or restrictions, and let us know if the work is upstairs, in a flat or up high outside.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
Getting a quote
A good description makes for an accurate quote. Tell us where the job is, what’s wrong and how much there is, and email photos if that’s easy.
Advice
Keeping the joints in good condition
A little care helps the new joints last. We recommend:
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Use gentle cleaners on the silicone
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
In a kitchen, don’t let water sit along the back of the worktop. A dry joint lasts longer.
There’s no need to wait for a full refurbishment. Like paintwork, sealant needs renewing from time to time, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
Common problems we fix in Witney
A bath shifts a little every time it’s filled and emptied. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, and a tray that isn’t fully bedded can rock. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Tower Hill Community Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
Questions to ask before booking
- What preparation is included
- What happens if the job turns out different
- What the cure time is
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
Why deal with it now?
Running new silicone over the old joint can look tidy for a few weeks, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. Water creeps under it and mould follows, so the next person has twice as much to remove. In Witney, as anywhere, most leaks start as a small gap in a joint, and early is when they’re cheapest and quickest to sort.
What it costs depends on the amount of work, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts.

Bathroom resealing in Witney: local notes
Witney has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you live in an older home near Witney Congregational Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Rented homes near Finstock station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
