How we handle bathroom resealing in Fleet

A bead that has gone black, split or come away shouldn’t be left until there’s a leak. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a photo of the joints, and you’ll get a clear quote for bathroom resealing in Fleet. Typical jobs include black mould in the silicone that won’t clean off and water escaping at the shower enclosure, on wet rooms, baths and kitchen worktops & upstands.

Most bathrooms in a town like Fleet are in family homes, used every day, where sealant and grout take a lot of daily wear. The usual signs are mould in the bead, gaps by the sink and grout that is cracked or stained.

Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, large or small.

Why deal with it now?

Dealing with sealant early is a short job: the work takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Wait for a leak and you may be looking at panels off, drying out and redecorating too. Draughts from a gap round a frame, damp under a sill or water behind a bath panel all start small, and they’re far easier to fix early.

Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Ask us for a quote and we will explain what it covers.

Why us?

  • Experience in homes, commercial sites and hotels
  • Sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive in wet areas

Fleet questions

Do you work for landlords with property near Fleet station?

Yes, we work for landlords and agents. Just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear price.

Is Fleet in your area for bathroom resealing?

Yes, Fleet is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. We give a 12-month guarantee on every job, and we’re ARBOMaster approved applicators.

Will the old sealant be removed?

Yes. Sealing over the old bead is the commonest cause of early failure, so we never do it.

Where do you work from?

We’re a Crawley-based firm, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

Will it make a mess?

Tidy work is part of the job. Nearby surfaces are protected, and the area is left clean when we finish.

Can you work on commercial sites?

Yes. Commercial and hotel work is a large part of what we do, as well as homes. We can talk about working times when we quote.

Should I try DIY first?

Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.

Quotes for bathroom resealing in Fleet

You’ll get a clear quote before any work starts. It takes into account:

  • Any mould that needs treating
  • Access and height
  • The product the joint needs
  • How many areas need sealing

Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.

What we need to know

Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:

  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
  • Photos by email, if that is easy

Need a quote? Please call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the job. We will explain what we’d do and give you a clear price before we start.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Fleet

Fleet has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Heatherside Junior School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. For landlords with property near Fleet station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. If you live in an older home near Fleet Methodist Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

How to look after the new joints

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Don’t leave water standing on kitchen joints
  • Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
  • Don’t let bottles sit on the bead
  • Squeegee the walls and tray after use

Good ventilation does more than any cleaner. Use the fan, or open a window, while you bathe and for a while afterwards, so the silicone gets a chance to dry.

Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.

DIY versus a professional finish

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.

Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.

Surface by surface

Shower trays & enclosures

There are generally two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so both are resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

Kitchen worktops & upstands

The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. We seal them in a colour that suits the worktop, so the line does not stand out.

The process

Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you. The visit itself generally takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower, depending on how much there is to do. Parking in a town like Fleet is usually straightforward, but tell us if there’s a driveway or any restrictions, and mention if the work is upstairs, in a flat or high on the outside.

  1. We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
  2. The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
  3. We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
  4. New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
  5. We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, usually after around 24 hours.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
  • Tell us about any water getting in
  • Clear items away from the joints we are working on
