Our bathroom resealing service in East Sussex
A fresh bead of silicone changes how a bathroom looks more than most people expect. Black, patchy sealant makes clean tiles look tired, and a neat new joint puts that right in a short visit. It also seals the gaps that let water behind the bath. Typical jobs include lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt and new sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting, on sinks & splashbacks, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures.
We work through the job in order: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. For most jobs that takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom, and the area is left clean.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
How we quote
A few things move the cost up or down: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What you get with us
- Colour picked to suit the job
- Experience in homes, commercial sites and hotels
- A choice of colours where the product allows
- We agree the colour with you first

Landmarks near Eastbourne
Locally, jobs take us to homes and businesses close to St Andrew, Princes Park and Stafford Junior School. Also close by are The King's Arms Public House (0.9 miles south-east), WMG Academy for Young Engineers (1.5 miles south-west) and Ratton School (1.1 miles west). Eastbourne’s nearest station is Hampden Park station, about 0.7 miles north-west of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Pevensey Castle (3 miles north-east) and Royal Sussex Regimental Museum (1 mile south-east). Open spaces near Eastbourne include Combe Hill.
Bathrooms and kitchens across East Sussex
Our bathroom resealing work across East Sussex covers homes, rentals and businesses, in Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea and well beyond. The method is the same everywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.
Hard water across most of the South East leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings. For any job in East Sussex, joints are cleaned back properly before anything new goes in. Along the coast in East Sussex, window and wall joints facing the sea take the brunt of the weather, so they’re often the first to fail. The right product and careful preparation help it last.
Eastbourne: For landlords with property near Hampden Park station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. In the older streets around St Andrew, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
Aftercare tips
A little care helps the new joints last. We recommend:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Keep bottles off the sealant line
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, following the cure time we give you. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.
When it isn’t the sealant
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
Surface by surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. We seal them in a colour that suits the worktop.
Sinks & splashbacks
Next to the sink, the sealant has to cope with constant water, and a food-safe product where it’s needed. The joint is laid neatly so it’s easy to wipe.
What happens if it’s left?
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. Water creeps under it and mould follows.
Questions to ask before you book
- Is VAT in the price?
- How long to leave it before use
- Whether they’re fully insured
- The length of the guarantee
Should I try it myself first?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
Common questions in East Sussex
What do you need from me for a quote?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for householders, landlords, letting agents, businesses and hotels in East Sussex.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes. More than one area can go on one quote.
How much does bathroom resealing cost in East Sussex?
Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. To get one, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with a short description of the job.
Are you insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
