- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Netley
Sealant is the soft line between a bath, shower or worktop and the wall. Once it cracks or goes mouldy, water starts to find its way through and into the wall or floor. Our team cut the old bead out completely and lay a new one in anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We work on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & upstands, and people most often call us about lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop.
Around Netley, you’ll mostly find houses and bungalows, from older cottages to newer builds. Bathrooms and kitchens here get the same daily wear as anywhere, and the sealant and grout show it first.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

How the visit works
You do not need to clear the whole room or building, just the space around the work. We protect the rest, and the job takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen for a typical job. A visit to Netley is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed in advance. Outdoor jobs depend on a dry day, since sealant needs a dry surface.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead, including the film left on the tiles.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the area around the work
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Tell us about any water getting in

Advice
Bathroom resealing in Netley: local notes
Netley is close to the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Managing a site like Netley Abbey Infant School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Letting a property close to Netley station? Then a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. In the older streets around Church of St Edward the Confessor, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

What sealant work can’t fix
We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
If you are not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
Should I try it myself first?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
Different surfaces, different methods
Sinks & splashbacks
Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.
Basins & vanity units
Basins take less water than showers, but the joint behind them is splashed every day. Corners behind basins are where mould tends to start, so it’s cut out and renewed just like a bath joint.
Netley: your questions answered
Is Netley within the area you cover?
Yes. Netley is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Netley station?
Yes, we work for letting agents and landlords. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes. Tell us about everything you’d like done and you’ll get one quote.
Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?
Yes, we can. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. We cut out all of the old sealant, clean the joint and start again.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
Silicone is touch-dry quite quickly, but it takes longer to cure. Keep water off it for around 24 hours, or as long as we advise for that product.
Do I have to be there?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
What sealant do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference.
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether the work is at height
- When we can work, for business premises
- The product the joint needs
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting. If you are not sure whether it needs doing, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.
What we need to know
You don’t need to know the technical terms. It helps if you can tell us:
- Roughly how big the job is
- How we’d reach the joints
- The address or postcode of the job
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
To get a quote, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. We’ll give you a clear quote before any work starts.
Keeping the joints in good condition
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
Check the sealant now and then. Small splits and lifting ends are easy to catch early, so if something does not look right, just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, where it can make the board swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.

What happens if it’s left?
Running new silicone over the old joint can look tidy for a few weeks, but it can’t stick to what’s underneath. Water creeps under it and mould follows, so the next person has twice as much to remove. In an older home around Netley, damp from a failed joint can get into timber and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the sealant itself.
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Call for a quick quote and we’ll go through it with you.
