About bathroom resealing in Windsor and Maidenhead
It isn’t only bathrooms. The joint between worktop and wall, the edge of the sink and the bottom of the splashback get wet every single day, and water behind a laminate worktop can make it swell. Kitchen joints get a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows. Typical jobs include water getting behind the kitchen upstand and a joint torn by a bath that flexes, across sinks & splashbacks, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms.
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can get on with your day. Expect the work to take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.

Bathrooms and kitchens across Windsor and Maidenhead
Across Windsor and Maidenhead, from Maidenhead, Windsor and Boyn Hill outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Sealant and grout wear out in all of them, whether it’s a family bathroom, a rented flat or a hotel en suite.
London and the South East have homes from every era, from period terraces to post-war new towns and new estates. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials, wherever it is in Windsor and Maidenhead.
Maidenhead: If you live in an older home near All Saints' Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Schools such as Claires Court Schools are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy. We can quote for more than one property at once.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will quote.
What happens if it’s left?
Bleach and mould sprays may lighten black marks for a while, but mould that has grown into the sealant tends to return. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts.

Different surfaces, different methods
Shower trays & enclosures
There are usually two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both take water every day, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Baths
Baths move more than any other fitting, so it’s filled with water before the bead goes on. That way the joint is laid with the bath at its heaviest and isn’t stretched when it’s used.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, then guaranteed for a year.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Keeping the joints in good condition
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, following the cure time we give you. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, and the board underneath can swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
Windsor and Maidenhead questions
Can you reseal around my kitchen sink and worktop?
Yes. Kitchen joints get extra degreasing before the new bead goes on, then a colour-matched bead is laid.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes, regularly. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.
Does someone need to be in?
That depends on where the joints are. For work indoors, someone needs to let us in, while outside work can sometimes be arranged differently.
Which products do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
Where do you work from?
We work from Crawley. We cover Windsor and Maidenhead.
What colours of sealant can you use?
We can use white, clear or a colour to suit. On a worktop we colour-match where the joint shows.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. To get one, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a short description of the job.
